Imagined Spaces is the title of the exhibition by the Creative Jewellery and Metal Design Division Visual Arts of Stellenbosch University, in association with South African Jewellery Week.

Gallery University Stellenbosch – GUS – is proud to present Imagined Spaces an exhibition of current undergraduate and MAVA student’s work specializing in contemporary jewellery design. The Creative Jewellery and Metal Design Division is focused on educating jewellery design as a critical discipline that allows students to reflect on their surroundings and translate their ideas into 3 dimensional wearable artworks that communicates and stimulates thought.

This exhibition illustrates how jewellery design can function as a multi-faceted design tool through the various ways that students have employed their jewellery practice to push boundaries and communicate messages of identity, place, social standing, cultural practices, and political viewpoints.
