In celebration of ‘Modern Masters VII’, EBONY/CURATED Loop Street invites you to an engaging conversation on Wednesday, 23 July at 6:00PM, the seventh iteration of their annual exhibition series spotlighting modern artworks from Southern Africa made before the turn of the century.
Hosted by gallery director Marc Stanes, the evening will feature a discussion with Phillippa Duncan and Andrew Lamprecht, whose combined expertise offers an exploration on legacy, archival practices, and the evolving narratives of modern
South African art.
Phillippa Duncan is an independent advisor and researcher, and the Collection Trustee for the Erik Laubscher Heritage Trust (Erik&Claude: The Foundation). Her work focuses on sharing lesser-known histories and encouraging connections
between modern and contemporary South African art.
Andrew Lamprecht is Curator of Historical Paintings and Sculpture at the Iziko South African National Gallery, with a curatorial and writing practice that reconsiders historical collections and explores the intersections of African and
European art histories.
Ebony/Cutrated invites you to join them from 6:00PM for welcome drinks, with the conversation commencing at 6:30PM. Space is limited, kindly RSVP to E info@ebonycurated.com to secure your place.
