Interns visit The Company’s Gardens

Our trip started here, at the Company’s Garden. What a beautiful place!  A little paradise in the city.

It’s a place where everyone can have a good time. Vegetation is very pleasant and some animals such as squirrels and ducks share the park with people. Many children have fun feeding them and running after birds. (Akshay too – but he prefers running after ducks – he is a big child you know).
A part of the garden is devoted to planting vegetables – restoring the historical reason for the establishment of the garden. So we can smell flavours, discover different varieties of vegetables and of course raise awareness for a healthier nutrition and consuming green products. This space provides a fun and educational aspect to the park. It permits the children to discover how the vegetables are grown before they eat them. And in our case, it allows us to test our knowledge about different kinds of vegetables and at the same time to do a little contest to decide who would pay the lunch.

For lunch, The Company’s Garden restaurant is the best place. A quiet and relaxing space in the shade under the trees perfect for a drink with friends for example. The food is delicious and the staff welcoming. We were so hungry that’s why Akshay ate an entire chicken with potatoes and a little salad and me a classic burger.

Doesn’t it look delicious! It was so good because we were outside to enjoy this beautiful weather.

So, if you want to have a good time, enjoy the sun, go for a small walk alone, with friends or with your family, the Company’s Garden will be the best choice. It was a very good day to walk in the garden, chat together, enjoy the sun and to rest.

After lunch we headed to the South African Museum, which we’ll tell you about in our next blog.

I think we can both safely say we #lovecapetown!

We are following Cape Town Tourism’s Art & Creatives Route and also using the Arts + Crafts Map to help us find our way around.
