Look forward to ending off the weekends with Kirstenbosch Summer Sunset Concerts that satisfy the most diverse tastes, in the spectacularly beautiful Kirstenbosch Garden.

Meet with friends and family, gather your picnic baskets and blankets to enjoy the floral heritage and the mountain and let the music end your weekend on a high note.

The Kirstenbosch Summer Sunset Concerts provides all this and more through to Sunday 2 April, 2017 with a magnificent line-up which has something for everyone.

Kirstenbosch is one of the Big 7 attractions in and around Cape Town, together with Robben Island, Groot Constantia, the Table Mountain Cableway, the V&A Waterfront, Cape Point and the City Walk. Some special Big 7 offers will be available to concert goers this year.

The Kirstenbosch Summer Sunset 2016/17 Concerts are a celebration of 25 years of outstanding concerts.

Back by popular demand are: Jimmy Nevis, Mango Groove, The Parlotones, Prime Circle, Mi Casa, The Soil, Cape Town Folk ‘n Acoustic Music Festival, Goldfish, The Cape Town Philharmonic Orchestra, Zonke, Lira, Jeremy Loops, Dan Patlansky, The Soil and Just Jinjer.

There are some interesting duos in the mix, including the Parlotones’ Khan who will be on stage with Richard Stirton. Richard was the 2016 winner of the Voice South Africa. Who can forget the moment when Richard had all four judges turn their chairs around and do their absolute best to convince him to choose them as his coach? But Richard followed his heart and chose Khan to be his mentor, and at this concert we will experience the result.

Beatenberg and Opposite The Other share the stage as do Johnny Clegg and Slow Jack, Matthew Mole and Jesse Clegg, Karen Zoid and Francois van Coke, Shortstraw and Al Bairre, and sibling duo Bobby & Karlien van Jaarsveld.

Jah Prayzah and the 3rd Generation Band will be performing for the first time at the concerts. Mukudzeyi Mukombe, who performs under the name Jah Prayzah, is a Zimbabwean contemporary musician and lead member for the band 3rd Generation. He is popularly referred to by fans as “Musoja” the Shona word for “the soldier”, a name he earned mostly because of his signature band uniform of military regalia. The name Jah Prayzah comes from his name, ‘Mukudzei’ which means “Praise Him”.
