LIRA – Making Herstory
In 2013, LIRA released her autobiography titled Making Herstory. This book gives her fans an opportunity to gain knowledge about her and her road to fame:
“I want to share my understanding of what my purpose is, what drives me to wake up every morning, no matter what I may be facing, and do what I need to do with all the strength in me. I want to share what I believe in, what I think about, how I live and approach all that I do. I want to give you insight into my attitude and what inspires my music.“
The soulful songstress has had a busy year. The beginning of 2018 saw her journey with her #BeAboutIt tour to showcase her sixth studio album Born Free. For women’s month, she joined the DStv Delicious International Food and Music Festival to celebrate the power of women with a moving tribute to South African women and the late anti-apartheid stalwart Mam’Winnie Madikizela Mandela. She has moulded herself as the face of women empowerment in the South African music industry.
“I still have dreams to fulfil and this excites and motivates me. At the core of it, I really just want to fulfil my highest potential possible.”
She will be performing songs from her latest album, Born Free, such as Let There Be Light, Be About It and What You Love. Her sound continues to resonate across generations with the classics Feel Good, Ixesha, Hamba to name a few.
