The Lockdown Collection UNLOCKING has a closing Event Sunday at 4 pm, which invites Aspire Art Auctions  invites you to jpin.  Another example of #AuctionFromHome.

The Lockdown Collection is a bold and indispensable charitable initiative aimed at raising much needed funds for South Africans – artists and the broader community – to assist in the fight against the economic impact of the coronavirus pandemic. This is also the story of the South African lockdown, told through visual artists of the country.

Artworks donated by invited artists to this fundraising initiative record this extraordinary, unprecedented time in global history.

The Lockdown Collection

An outstanding collection of 21 artworks by some of the country’s leading contemporary artists have been revealed throughout the lockdown period and is now live and open for online bidding. View the Lockdown Collection HERE

The project culminates in a live-streamed auction as part of the Unlocking event on Sunday, 19 April at 4 pm.

Aspire Art invite you to support this initiative by bidding on works by the likes of Penny Siopis, Thenjiwe Nkosi, Sam Nhlengethwa, Gerhard Marx, Diane Victor and more.

No commission will be charged on the sale of these lots. All proceeds will go to a newly created Vulnerable Visual Artist Fund (60%), which will be open for grants imminently, the President’s Solidarity Fund (25%) as well as to the participating artists (15%).
