Cape Town will have its chance to see the award winning comedian Loyiso Gola up close and personal when he performs live at the Baxter Theatre from 19 to 23 November 2013.
In Loyiso Gola Live he dishes out his hard-hitting satirical humour where no subject matter is taboo. Gola’s unique sense of humour, affinity towards openly frank and observational commentary has carved him into a comedy genius elevating his status to be one of South Africa’s most talented comedians.
Late Night News, the South African news parody show that Gola hosts, has recently been nominated for an international Emmy award in the comedy category of the award ceremony’s global competition. The show is currently in its eighth season. The 41st International Emmy® Awards winners will receive their awards on November 25, 2013 at a Gala in New York City.
Gola, originally from Gugulethu in Cape Town, has graced the stages of all the major festivals and events on local comedy calendars and has performed internationally at the Edinburgh Festival, in New York and Dubai. From humble beginnings performing with the Cape Comedy Collective on the Cape Town comedy circuit “while he was still at school”, he has evolved into performing all over the South Africa in addition to his television, radio and big screen appearances.
