Marc Stanes, on Sanlam Arts Up - Extra Reasons to attend the Franschhoek Literary Festival

Marc Stanes of Ebony/Curated gives us several additional reasons to attend the Franschhoek Literary Festival taking place this weekend, with an incredible programme  of events, and Bordeaux House being one of the  festival venues on Saturday.

Listen to the Arts Round Up on Fine Music Radio FMR 101.3fm on Fridays at 17h30

Marc is very proud of the particularly strong group exhibition TERRAIN, that opened last week at Bordeaux House.. TERRAIN is an exploration of land, both as a physical presence and a profound metaphor for body, memory, and identity. Of the 15 artists, some are gallery artists and others invited for this show that include Craig Cameron-Mackintosh, Feni Chulumanco, Ulriche Jantjies, Thami Kiti and Amy Rusch.

Bordeaux House

Bordeaux House being the venue for some of the Saturday sessions, you will also be able to see TERRAIN.

Ebony/Curated at Franschhoek Square has their usual mix of fine art, ceramics, design and always a few surprises as well as part of the Literary Festival.

Ebon/Curated

Their Ardmore shop, that evolved at the time of COVID, has been such a success, that 6 months ago it was moved to an expanded space.  The focus is on Ardmore’s most  interesting and original pieces, including fabrics. It’s not only highly priced works but a wider range from Ardmore.

The upstairs space, has a wide range of fine art. The main focus is definitely the TERRAIN exhibition.

Marc Stanes goes on to explain that Ebony/Curated has become the first local sponsor of the Franschhoek Literary Festival. The festival contributes enormously to business in the village – or more correctly the town – that they felt that they should step up as a sponsor and support the event. It’s the last begin event before winter sets in and sleepier times.

So – enjoy the  Franschhoek Literary Festival and make sure to check out what’s on show at Ebony/Curated in Franschhoek! See you there!
