  • Museum Saturday WALKABOUT with sculptor Dylan Lewis

In a celebration of sculpture, the exhibition CASTED brings together a selection of figurative works in mostly bronze created by sculptors continents and more than a century apart.Dylan Lewis , CASTED

The selection features a European Master – Antoine Bourdelle, Old South African Master – Anton van Wouw as well as two contemporary South African Greats – Dylan Lewis and Nandipha Mntambo.

It casts a view on shared influences, style, execution, and approach to each of their practice. At first glance the contrasting characteristics of the selection dominates, in both scale and style.

Yet on closer inspection the subject matter and parallel narratives become abundantly apparent in its explorations of the human condition from the everyday, the mythical and monumental.

Join in on a walkabout as Dylan Lewis elaborates on his process, approach and pieces included in CASTED. Please note no seating will be available during this walkabout.
