It’s that time of the year again – get your nominations in now for the Mail & Guardian’s 200 Young South Africans, writes Ben Kelly.

Every year, the Mail & Guardian scours the country to find noteworthy and newsworthy young South Africans to profile in its annual 200 Young South Africans publication.

In its 10th year, the list has become the country’s most celebrated hallmark of the up-and-coming generation, a who’s who of young people at the top of their field in 10 categories.

This year, we have added a new category for school-going youngsters, making the final list of categories as follows:

Arts & Culture
Business
Civil society
Education
Environment
Health
Media
Politics
Science & Technology
Sport
Rising Stars (new category for school-going youngsters)

A list of this nature is only as good as the research and support behind it, which is why the M&G is once again calling for nominations to be sent in by the public to assist our editorial team, who will then make the final selection.

This is your chance to nominate a candidate.

Your nominees must be 35 and under. They do not need to be South African citizens or born in South Africa. They do, however, need to be residing in and committed to this country.

They need to be people who are making a difference in their field or in their communities or in both.

All nominations will be considered and, should your nomination be successful, the research team will contact your nominee directly.

Nominations are now open and close on Thursday February 19 2015.
