A hidden gem - 5 minutes walk from Muizenberg Beach

Palmer Road in Muizenberg is open on First Thursdays Down South – another good reason to visit and see what makes this a special destination.

Inspirational small independent craft and design shops and galleries with old-school storefronts line narrow Palmer Road, tucked away in the historic heart of Muizenberg.

Enjoy a safe meander of about 100 metres of slow-shopping and browsing. Skermunkil is a renowned jewellery and design studio, Gina Neiderhumer a fine art textile studio and gift shop and Skeletony’s an off-beat general store. Get inked at Dreamingink tattoo parlour. Sue Beatie’s Mosaic Studio offers lessons and her local Fish Route tour of Mosaics. Sew it Together can teach anyone to sew. Studio 26 features Charlotte’s handmade ceramics, fine art, jewellery and crafts. Christine Crowley at Studio 21 is a fine art gallery and Feat sells designer socks, stationery and games. Boland Animation Studio is open by appointment. Bluepriest is a colour explosion of Afroteck streetware fashion, while Green Calm is an oasis of plants and collectables.

And wonderful eateries to refuel at along the way!
