After careful consideration, the Cape Town Partnership regrets to announce the postponement of the City Hall Sessions concerts, which were scheduled for Saturday 6 July.
“Given that Mandela’s first speech as a free man took place at City Hall, there is a powerful association between the hall, the city and him. We therefore believe it is fitting to postpone the concert as a sign of respect,” says Cape Town Partnership CEO Bulelwa Makalima-Ngewana. “Alongside other South Africans and our friends the world over, our solidarity and support goes out to the Mandela family at this time.”
Ticketholders will be able to claim a full refund from their place of purchase.
A new date in the City Hall Sessions concert series will be announced shortly.
