Quiddity - "whatness" or "what it is"

Quiddity, a group exhibition, opens on the evening of Wednesday 20 October 2021 at 6pm at Daor Contemporary.

Quiddity (another term for the essence of an object, literally its “whatness” or “what it is”. The inherent nature of someone or something.) is a group exhibition featuring twelve exciting local contemporary talents working in a variety of mediums.

Artists participating in this group show:

Katherine Bull, Fadiel Hermans, Marcel Herholdt, Simone Marinus, Kirsten McClarty, Hermien van der Merwe, Arno Morland, Ryan Shava, Elmarie van Straten, Simon Venter, Mary Visser, Inge Zelewitz.

An industrial building rescued from dilapidation; shaped, cleaned and transformed to showcase and celebrate some of the most exciting contemporary African artists of our time. Daor Contemporary has a strong focus on South African and Pan African art from both mid-career and emerging talent, boasting a mix of various disciplines.
