Two Oceans Aquarium 30th birthday is in November 2025, and on the Arts Round Up, Alichia Nortje, Guest Experience Manager, tells us what to look forward to as the Aquarium moves towards this landmark celebration.

This is a special year for the Two Oceans Aquarium celebrating their 30th birthday in November, and Alichia explains that they have a range of activities planned throughout the year. The holiday period is always an exciting time and through until this Sunday 5 January, the Aquarium is open until 7:00pm an hour later than their usual 6:00pm closing time.
The all day ticket is another special feature of a visit to the Aquarium – you can leave and come back later, after taking time out for a coffee or a break to visit other places around the V&A Waterfront. There’s also an After Three special. From 3:00pm you get a 25% discount on your ticket, Another plus is the FREE Birthday ticket (and that can be claimed up to 6 days after your birthday). So, you can get a very special birthday party treat by taking family and friends to the Two Oceans Aquarium from 3:00pm!
Education plays an important role at the Aquarium with 75 000 learners visiting each year – and that’s from pre-school to high school. That really needs to be acknowledged from an educational point of view and for making museums a welcoming space.
