1-54 New York will also present ‘Knotted Ties’, an intimate physical exhibition of textile works by female artists, which will be showing at Christie’s Rockefeller Plaza, New York. The exhibited works illustrate both the power and strength of textile work and its capacity to convey humanity’s entangled histories, challenging social landscapes, and complex realities. Furthermore, these pieces remind us of the importance of community nurturing and constructive dialogue as we create futures through uncertain times.  Ebony/Curated are delighted that a new embroidered panel by Kimathi Mafafo has been included.

The exhibition is free to visit and is open to the public 15 – 26 May 2021. All works exhibited can be viewed and acquired on 1-54 Online, powered by Christie’s. Book to visit the exhibition here.
