Wiki Loves Monuments award ceremony

Wiki Loves Monuments award ceremony takes place this Saturday at 18:00 at the Slave Church.

The event is when winners of this year’s South African component of the largest photograph competition in the world will be awarded their prizes.  The best photographs submitted from both South Africa and around the world will be on display.

Background: Wiki Loves Monuments is an international photographic competition that encourages people to photograph monuments during the month of September every year so they can be used on Wikipedia.

So celebrate South Africa’s heritage by joining Wiki on the 1st November from 6pm at the Slave Church on 40 Long Street, Cape Town.  Food and refreshments will be served at this semi-formal occasion.
