You don’t have to be an sewing expert to join us at this very special workshop that is inspired by the heroines of the San Women and their traditional symbolic bags,
Join Marlene Winberg to make your own Gathering Bag.
WHAT IS A GATHERING BAG?
In the San tradition, these small, usually animal skin bags, held medicines, foraged food, powders, herbs and the spirit and metaphorical narrative of the animal and the hunter. As we make our own, and fill them with our own memories and treasures, we will listen to some traditional stories, their healing potential, and share some of our own.

Conversation with Erika Breytenbach
Come and listen to Erika Breytenbach as she recounts the sizzling sisterhood stories behind the show I Can Buy Myself Flowers. The one-woman show was written by Mike van Graan and delivered in hot style by acclaimed actor Erika. And at the same time, share your own – and show you care and sign Wire Woman’s Skirt of Solidarity!

Saturday March 8 is International Woman’s Day and in celebration Woman Zone are having a Book Club with a difference.
Everyone will take a walk around the district on the ‘Artscape Arc’, highlighting statues of women’s interest, while listening to narratives from New Contrast writers. Settling back at the WZ Library we’ll talk about the books you’ve read during the month.
