A few reasons to visit Zeitz MOCAA this year

Zeitz MOCAA have extended the run of their exhibitions – one good reason to visit this year!

“There’s no denying COVID-19 has put a damper on our usual fun-in-the-sun summer. So we’ve changed up our opening hours, extended our exhibitions and gone digital so there’s no excuse not to live it up with amazing art and more.”

Priority health and safety protocols

The world has changed and so has Zeitz MOCAA: “In order to ensure your health and safety, your temperature will be taken on arrival, there are sanitisation stations throughout the museum and only 50 people are allowed in the museum at any one time – which means it’ll feel like you have the space to yourself!

In addition, our audio guides are now available on Soundcloud so you won’t need to share a device with anyone else. We’ve also made it easier to pay for admission and other purchases with contactless payment options. Don’t forget: We have a strict ‘No mask, no entry’ policy.”

Your favourite works – linger longer

With fewer people allowed inside the museum under COVID-19 lockdown Level 3 restrictions, Zeitz MOCAA want to ensure everyone has a chance to enjoy their current exhibitions.

Home Is Where the Art Is, as well as Haroon Gunn-Salie’s Line In The Sand, Senzeni Marasela’s Waiting for Gebane and Alfredo Jaar: The Rwanda Project, have all been extended so you can spend time revelling in local works that examine issues of home, belonging and history.

Home Is Where the Art Is

The Daily Maverick called it a “remarkable celebration of what it means to be human”, Between 10 and 5 was in awe at the overwhelming talent in the Mother City and the Art Times was quick to point out how the show is “a mirror of ourselves” – and we couldn’t agree more!

If you haven’t experienced this amazing collection of more than 2,000 artworks, put Home Is Where the Art Is at the top of your must-see list next time you visit Zeitz MOCAA.

The exhibition features works made, owned and loved by Capetonians, and will provide an inside view of the local people and their cultures.
