Ceramics Western Cape proudly announces its Annual Members Juried Exhibition 2025, at 6 Spin Street Gallery, showcasing the finest in contemporary ceramic artistry from across the Western Cape.
The exhibition opens with an Awards Ceremony and Public Launch on 26 July 2025 at 2pm at 6 Spin Street Gallery, Cape Town, and will run until 7 August 2025.
This highly anticipated event features a diverse range of ceramic works – ranging from functional ware to sculptural forms—selected by an esteemed panel of jurors. The exhibition offers a platform for both emerging and established ceramic artists to present their latest work to a broad audience of collectors, curators, and the general public.
The 2025 jury includes renowned ceramic artists Andile Dyalvane, Chuma Maweni and Peter Jacobs, who bring their expertise and discerning eye to the curation of this year’s show. Artworks are selected based on criteria of originality, technical excellence, innovation, and conceptual depth.
Awards to the value of R50,000 will be presented in the Premier and New Signature categories, alongside special awards such as the Excellence in Wheelwork Award and the Excellence in Original Glaze Award. These accolades celebrate both mastery of traditional techniques and the creative exploration of contemporary ceramic practice.
“This exhibition continues to highlight the vibrancy and sophistication of ceramic art in the Western Cape,” says Rosh Sewpersad, Chair of Ceramics Western Cape. “It reflects not only a deep respect for clay and its traditions, but also the bold experimentation and individual voices that define our region.”
The exhibition is open to the public with free entry and all works on display will be available for sale. Ceramics Western Cape invites all art lovers, collectors, and supporters of the handmade to visit the exhibition and experience the enduring power of clay as a medium for contemporary expression.
