Geena gives us the background to the theme of Hunger, and suggests that although there might be socio-political overtones, the response has been one of nostalgia. The realistic life size sculptural pieces of gummy bears and marshmallows for instance, often conjure up memories of childhood.
Yes, there may be a somewhat satirical overtone, even a sense of moving through the check out point at a supermarket, and being tempted to buy.
The location at Boschendal is also appropriate in terms of their regenerative farming practices and the options available for the very good food on offer at the restaurants.
