It’s January 2026 and the AVA Gallery has lined up an Artist-led and Curator-led Walkabout of their current exhibitions and have announced the 4 new exhibitions they will be opening on 29 January.

Group Artist-led Walkabout Saturday 17 January 2026 | 11 am – 1 pm

Join AVA this Saturday for the first walkabout of 2026, featuring three exhibitions from their current cycle. “We invite you to connect directly with the artists for an inside look at the inspiration and process behind their latest works.”

The walkabout will explore the following exhibitions: Try a Little Tenderness by Hannah Macfarlane and Amber Alcock, Do You Know the Place? by Aimee Lindeque, and Who is King? And What Do I Know? by Gill Allderman

Curator-led Walkabout Wednesday 21 January | 6 for 6:30 pm

“We invite you to a special curators’ led walkabout of our current exhibition, As Natural As Daylight: Plants, Memory and The Edge of Belonging, a group show on view in our Main Gallery.
Curators Yusuf Essop and Jade Nair will lead an intimate tour of the gallery, in conversation with artist, writer, and catalogue contributor Youlendree Appassamy, who will discuss her writing process and response to the works.

We are also thrilled to have several participating artists in attendance to speak directly about their practice and process. Join us as we engage with the ideas embedded in this exceptional show.”

Long Gallery: Ain’t Shit Funny But A Joke Ni… A solo exhibition by Tusevo Landu
New Media Room: Coastline, interrupted by Tanja Bosch
