The Signature Art Gallery has just marked its 1st birthday, which it did in style a the last First Thursday. On 2 April it will officially launch THE SECRET SIGNATURE art initiative to celebrate their second year, while also supporting a good cause.

The concept of THE SECRET SIGNATURE is that both established artists that the gallery represents, and other artists chosen from the public invitation sent out, to submit works, which are all unsigned. The Signature team first discussed this concept with  their artists, who approved of the  idea. The only common feature is that all the works are on A4 sized stretched canvas and are unsigned. The choice of subject matter and choice of medium is for the artists to decide upon.

Signature Art Gallery will select 40 works for the exhibition in the gallery and online. You can then bid for the work, with the bidding ending at the end of April. You might be able to recognise a particular artist’s style. You might  simply respond to a particular work. But you have no absolute certainty about the artist of the work you will be bidding on.

The highest bidder gets the  work and only then has the identity of the artist confirmed.

And the good news is that CHOC will receive one third of  the proceeds of THE SECRET SIGNATURE art auction. One third will go to each artist and one third to Signature Art Gallery. CHOC is a foundation that deals with  children who have cancer. A very worthy cause!
