ARTSOKO is now located in a new space at CLEMENTINA CERAMICS STUDIO with an exhibition titled Between The Spaces opening on Saturday 25 May 2024
Between The Spaces will be opened by Denis Beckett and the artists are
- Ben Coutouvidis – Paintings and drawings
- Clementina Van Der Walt – Ceramic vases, bowls, cups, face wall plates
“Between the Spaces” refers to the ‘Ma’ in Japanese – the gap or emptiness that exists between objects, situations, or relationships. It represents the essence of energy or intention that can be felt or experienced in that space, or a pause in the moment of flow.
“With this exhibition we invite the viewer to explore and feel the energy in their pause, and reflections, between and within each painting and ceramic piece.”
George Braque “…the space between the dish and the pitcher, that I paint too”
Lao Tzu “Pots are formed from clay. but the empty space within is the essence of the pot”
In her essay “The art of discovering the space in-between” Gail Brenner (clinical psychologist) says “Even if we don’t notice, there are spaces in-between everything. There is space between thoughts, breaths, between all things.”
Come along on Saturday 25 May and discover the ‘spaces’ in this new space – ARTSOKO at CLEMENTINA CERAMICS.
